A Farewell to Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

Mickey’s Toontown Fair has long been a favorite of mine when visiting the Magic Kingdom. The kids loved to play in Mickey’s Country House and they learned to conquer their first rollercoaster on The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm. This is why it saddens me to inform my readers that this magical land of Disney’s Magic Kingdom will be closing for good February 12th 2011.
The closing is to make way for the expansion of Fantasyland, which is going to double in size, and apparently the space is needed for newer and greater attractions. While I am a huge fan of any addition to my favorite place on earth, it is disappointing to lose the nostalgia of the attractions that helped contribute to the parks successes to begin with.
In any event, there is no doubt that the great minds at Walt Disney World know what they are doing; they have been entertaining me since my first visit nearly 20 years ago. So, let’s trust the decisions of the imagineers and allow them to find new an innovative ways to entertain us for years to come – just save your pictures of Toontown in a safe place, because you will not be able to replace them.
If you don’t have any pictures of Toontown, please enjoy mine - I will have more to come once I scan the hard copies.
Farewell Toontown!
